Mepilex Border Flex is a self-adherent foam dressing designed for the treatment of a variety of moderate to heavily exuding wounds, including diabetic ulcers, venous ulcers, pressure ulcers, skin lacerations and traumatic wounds.

This innovative dressing uses Flex technology, allowing 360-degree flexibility that adapts to the contours of the body, even in difficult-to-apply areas, ensuring a secure and comfortable hold. The Safetac contact layer minimises pain and trauma during dressing changes, protecting the surrounding skin and reducing the risk of maceration. Composed of five layers, Mepilex Border Flex effectively manages exudate, retaining it and preventing leakage, while acting as a barrier against bacteria and viruses.

Preparation: Clean the wound according to standard clinical procedures and gently dry the surrounding skin. Application: Select a dressing size that covers the wound and a margin of at least 2 cm of surrounding skin. Remove the protective film and apply the sticky side of the dressing to the wound, without stretching. Fixation: Gently smooth the edges of the dressing to ensure adequate adhesion. Replacement: The dressing may remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on the condition of the wound and surrounding skin, or as indicated by clinical practice.

Do not use Mepilex Border Flex in combination with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite or hydrogen peroxide solutions. Avoid use in patients with known hypersensitivity to the materials/components of the product. In case of signs of clinical infection such as fever or redness, warmth or swelling in the wound area or surrounding skin, consult a healthcare professional for appropriate treatment.

Mepilex Border Flex consists of a silicone contact layer (Safetac), absorbent layers of polyurethane foam, a non-woven dispersion layer, a layer with superabsorbent fibres and a vapour-permeable and waterproof outer film made of polyurethane.
